Bill Kapralos, Chair

Bill Kapralos is an Assistant Professor in the Game Development and Entrepreneurship Program at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. Bill received his BSc (first class, with distinction), MSc, and Ph.D from York University (Department of Computer Science and Engineering). Bill Kapralos' current research interests include: real-time acoustical modeling and 3D (spatial) sound generation for virtual environments and video games, multi-modal virtual environments/reality, the perception of auditory events, and the application of video games ("serious games") to education and training. He is currently involved in a number of serious games initiatives including those for the training of accountants, community health nurses, critical care providers, and orthopedic surgeons. Bill has chaired the ACM Future Play International Conference on the Future of Game Design and Technology since 2007.


Andrew Hogue, Co-Chair

University of Ontario Institute of Technology, Oshawa, Ontario

Andrew is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Business and Information Technology in the Game Development and Entrepreneurship programme at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. Prior to joining UOIT, Andrew acquired his BSc in Computer Science and MSc from York University. Andrew's current research interests lie in developing computer vision and photogrammetry techniques, focusing on how to automatically generate photorealistic 3D models of environments from video and imagery. The application domains of his research are numerous including robotics, simulation, virtual reality, gaming, and Forensics.

Jay Rajnovich, Chair Emeritus

Algoma University, Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, Canada

Jay (retired) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Algoma University. Prior to joining Algoma University he obtained his BA and MA from the University of Toronto, his BSc from Lake Superior State University, his MSc from McMaster, and then his PhD from the University of Western Ontario. His areas of expertise include logic Programming and Tentative Reasoning with Partial Information Logic; Visualization and Simulation using Computer Graphics, Computer Game Technology and Artificial Intelligence.
